For F*ck's Sake... WHY?
There is a sequel coming out for Haven: City of Violence, one of those games that promises something different and does not deliver. It set out to present a world or milieu in which the players took on the roles of scumbag crooks in an unncaring city of the same title. It proclaimed itself to be not a game of good versus evil, but a game of evil versus evil. Except it did not talk about this within the rules beyond the introduction. It did not deliver and for all of the time that the designer spent on the game, he came up with soemthing that was very old fashioned.

So, the sequel. No idea what it is about.
Not that you can tell from the information given in the news report.

Now that Porter has been allowed back on the RPGNow publisher forum, I'm struck by his lack of writing skills. I'm curious: did that find its way into Haven?

Well, considering that I reviewed the game several years ago... From what I recall, they were okay. Nothing exceptional either way, but my concerns were more with the design, which I think could have been better.

Fundamentally, deal with he subject you are selling. I said the same thing of Necessary Evil, the superhero supplement/campaign book for Savage Worlds.
